Go gold

BC wants everyone in their seats and in gold Saturday. Get there early and make some noise for our Eagles. The gold thing is hard to pull off (see below). Yellow is always a good substitute.

jury's still out on how i feel about this...if it helps our home field advantage i'm all for it...but I just think of the gimmicks around college football and always was happy we didn't succumb (see 2002 green jerseys/fsu blackout) last year

True, but Penn State White out is pretty cool, and if it gets the fans fired up and loud I think its a good thing

Where does it say on the BC website that we should all wear gold?

Everyone knows alumni wear maroon.

Maybe the alumni without superfan shirts wear maroon. I don't see any reason to give mine up, the phrase on the back clearly identifies my year, and potentially helps build the tradition by showing the newer BC students that there were many who came before them and still support the team.

Any chance of BC going with solid gold uniforms? Have we ever done that before in football like we did in hoops?
Solid Heisman hype if you ask me. Last time i checked, the trophy is gold-ish...

i dont see anything on the BC homepage asking for fans to do this but it was on the Ryan For Heisman blog and ATLeagle

I have a superfan shirt. I don't sit in the student section so I don't think not wearing my superfan shirt is a big deal.

I've been wearing a maroon t-shirt to the games I've attended this year and it seems to have been working out. Bill wears the same gear every Saturday for karma.

Besides, the slogans on the back of the Superfan shirts are for seniors to quickly ID / check out all the freshmen. :p

I hope we don't wear any hokey special uniforms for this game. Stick with the classic maroon home jerseys.

Brian, where what you want. I support the gold thing, but I also believe in karma. I am wearing the whale pants.

ATL - I've worn maroon to all the games, but I also had a sexy yellow poncho at the Virginia Tech game, so its a virtual wash (Here's to hoping I don't have to break out the poncho again because that rain was almost a disaster and a L).

Even with alum with superfan shirts wearing them outside the student section, the vast majority of attendees won't be wearing yellow, so in my opinion it doesn't make that much of a difference.

If you are sitting in the student section, superfan shirt is a must. Did you see the Superfan on College Gameday in State College? That was cool.

Go Eagles!

Since we are talking about Gameday attire and superstition, I'll throw in my 2 cents (like I always do). I have two BC Hockey jerseys leftover from my intra-mural days. Not the new ones they wear know, but the 90's version, which looked better (yeah, yellow helmets!). Even though Hockey does not follow Football by wearing colors at home, I match what the team is wearing. The Mrs will wear the other one, usually. Then, since I am the only BC alumn for about 100 miles, I hoist the flag outside for the neighbors to see. Out here on the "left" coast, I get a lot of weird looks. On top of all this, I have 2 hats, both of which I do not think you can get anymore. The first is the classic "bar" diagram with large B C letters over small Boston College, and the other is the "Circle" diagram with Boston College written in cursive angled through the circle and "Screaming Eagles" written outside the circle. Both of them are white, although I have seen Maroon versions, and both were made by The Game (againm in the 90s), the best hats ever. Okay, thats about 25 cents worth. Go Eagles!
