Snee story and more Draft stuff

Nice feature on ESPN.com about Giants guard Chris Snee.

The notes section of this story mentions Tribble's struggles at the Senior Bowl.

This profile has Silva going anywhere from the 3rd round to the 5th.

Early enrollee Josh Haden is hoping to start this season. Related to that, this Rivals notes column mentions the rebuilding Jags has to do with the offense. I think most fans assume that it will be Crane as the Ryan replacement. I think Jags is honest when he says the spot is open. Don't be surprised if Davis or Boek emerge this spring.

I really enjoyed the article about Chris Snee. Since I'm the same age as Coach Coughlin, I was a huge New York FOOTBALL Giants fan as a kid. It's nice to see them back on top.

Having said that, I'm still rooting for the Pats, of course, being a Boston native. Can they make history?

I think this has the potential to be a terrific Super Bowl - going down to the last minute. BC guys on both teams - I wish Kiwi was playing!

I think Jamie Silva will be in the NFL for a long time. If he can get into the right situation, he could be a starter and a star.

Sorry to hear about Tribble's problems - that knee injury really set him back this year, and he'll have to work through this adversity. Perhaps he won't be drafted until the 2nd or 3rd round.

Well, it will be interesting to see who emerges as our starting quarterback. On the one hand, you'd like to see Crane emerge as the clear winner, because he has been in the wings for 3 years. Could we be a team utilizing several quarterbacks? I'd rather that one guy is the winner - Crane, Davis, Boek or ? - but that's just my opinion. Big deal, right?

No matter who the quarterback is, wouldn't he like to throw to someone like Plaxico Buress? I know that our shorter receivers (Gunnell, Robinson, etc) will do very well, but I hope our 6'5" guys (Jarvis, Momah, Blackwood)take their inspiration from Buress!

As usual, I have no idea what I'm talking about - just doodling, and thinking that blogging about BC Football is a good way to take a quick break!

BJK, I'm generally not a fan of using 2 QBs. I think it's best to have one team leader. Only time I think a 2-QB system makes sense is when the two guys have radically different skill sets--VT with Glennon and Taylor, Florida last year with Leak and Tebow, etc. I don't think that's the case with Crane/Boek/Davis, so I say pick one guy and stick with him unless he can't get the job done.

Bill, a couple of nice articles on Coughlin and McGillis today:
