Throwbacks for Fenway!

As expected, BC will wear a special uniform for the game at Fenway. But instead of some nouveau "Cool" look, BC is going old school with a throwback look to the '80s. The color will be a little more mustard than our current gold. The helmet stripe is gone and the pants have the white-maroon-white trim.

But these are not truly identical to the Flutie days. We didn't have the "vintage" BC logo on the shoulder and the arm stripes are on the undershirt, not the true jersey. Plus in the '80s, the jerseys were very short, and guys like Flutie often had their abs showing.

Even if it is not a true throwback, I like what Under Armour did here. These should be popular and hopefully boost sales a bit.

By the way. The Irish will wear green. We know how that goes against us.

This is the perfect uniform. The gold helmet is great. If it ain't broken, why fix it? Flutie won with this look. It is iconic. The red stripe is stupid. It copies the Giants of Tom Coughlin. BC has two chances to beat ND, little and none. Next year will be a different story even with ND not on the schedule. The "kiddie corps" will be run over and "hung out to dry". BC has to hang tough and look to the future.

Actually, the red stripe is not copying Coughlin. It was on the Flutie-era unis.

Think he means the helmet stripe, not the pants stripe from 80s.

Awesome! Love the vintage interlocking BC logo (wish we'd use it more often)

Couldn't be happier on both jersey fronts.

not a fan, the special uni is an ND thing, usually backfires on them, in my book the less we are like those bums the better. Wear the regular uni, and kick there ass. I'd love to see them cry again.

Hoib,
On the other hand there is some precedent for this on the BC side. Our hockey team has worn special jerseys for their games at Fenway over the past few years.

I think they should wear Red Sox unis but score more.

This is the first time in years I feel able to unequivocally endorse the uniforms. They are perfect to play the "Faux Irish". I am so glad the names are back....missed being able to tell who was who.

Just get the the colors correct and we are "golden".

Go You Eagles!

The whole idea of ND coming into our backyard to play a "home" game really annoys me. I think it's a bad deal for us. The only way I change my mind is if we manage to beat them; then it will have been the best idea ever. I do like the unis, and hope the Eagles get motivation from those green ND shirts.
